The Baldwin County Commission issued a proclamation declaring Dec. 12-16 as LIVE UNITED Week.
In the spirit of this season of giving, the commissioners are encouraging all citizens to support financially, through United Way of Baldwin County, the many local community organizations that provide invaluable services for seniors, families and youth in Baldwin County.
Bay Minette Mayor Jamie Tillery was present at the meeting and announced that the city is joining in this effort and has invited all municipalities in Baldwin County to participate.
“We appreciate our community leaders, who see the need of many Baldwin County residents profoundly affected by the weak economy, encouraging everyone to contribute to United Way,” said United Way of Baldwin County’s Executive Director Rebecca Byrne. “It is only through the support of many individuals, businesses, and other organizations that we will help area nonprofits provide services to those in need.”
Donations help fund 38 health and human services agencies countywide.
To date, United Way of Baldwin County has reached 64 percent of its $925,000 goal. To donate to United Way, click here.
